Personal Trainer Course Pricing
$795 + tax
Includes access to online content, four in-person days, evaluation, and certification.

Personal Training Course Structure
To become a certified Personal Trainer, participants will first complete the YMCA Basic Fitness Theory course. Then, the course is divided into four parts e-learning and four parts in-person learning. Each e-learning module is followed by a full-day in-person session that builds on the e-learning. The YMCA Personal Training Course is designed to certify people to deliver one-on-one training sessions and program designs for people 16 and older of all abilities.

- Role and scope of a personal trainer
- Barriers to exercise
- Cardiovascular system and training modalities
- Fitness assessments
- Program design
- Tracking tools
- Strength training a variety of demographics
- Muscles, joints, and skeletal systems

Yoga Course Structure
To become a certified Yoga Instructor, participants will first complete the YMCA Basic Fitness Theory course. Then, they must complete the YMCA Yoga e-learning modules and four days of in-person learning. The YMCA Yoga Instructor Course is designed to certify people to teach yoga classes and one-on-one sessions to people of all abilities 16 and older.
You will master:
- History of yoga
- Muscles, joints, and skeletal systems
- Breathing technique
- Yoga poses and flows
- Cueing and coaching for yoga
Group Cardio and Strength Course Pricing

Group Strength Course Structure
To become a certified Group Cardio and Strength Fitness Instructor, participants will first complete the YMCA Basic Fitness Theory course. Then, they must complete the YMCA Group Cardio and Strength e-learning modules and four days of in-person learning. The YMCA Cardio and Strength Instructor Course is designed to certify people to teach group fitness cardio classes, such as choreography, step, and kickboxing, or strength classes, such as bars and plates, kettlebells, and bootcamp.
You will master:
- Class structure
- Basic exercises
- Exercise variations and modifications
- Musicality, cueing, technique, and transitions
- Class design
- Muscles, joints, and skeletal systems
CycleFit Course Pricing

Includes access to online content, three in-person days, evaluation, and certification.
Prerequisites

CycleFit Course Structure
To become a certified CycleFit Instructor, participants will first complete the YMCA Basic Fitness Theory course. Then, they must complete the YMCA CycleFit e-learning modules and three days of in-person learning. The YMCA CycleFit Instructor Course is designed to certify people to teach group fitness classes only in the style of CycleFit (formerly known as Spin).
You will master:
- Riding positions and basic moves
- Music and cadence
- Cueing basics, techniques, and transitions
- Muscles, joints, and skeletal systems
- Class design, training zones, and drills
AquaFit Course Pricing

Includes access to online content, three in-person days, evaluation, and certification.
Prerequisites

AquaFit Course Structure
To become a certified AquaFit Instructor, participants will first complete the YMCA Basic Fitness Theory course. Then, the course is broken into two parts to allow time for learners to practise and develop between sessions. Each part consists of YMCA Aquafit e-learning modules and one day of in-person learning. This course is designed to certify people to teach group fitness classes in an aquatic setting.
You will master:
- Properties of water
- Exercise overview for shallow and deep movements
- Cueing, transitions, and musicality
- Class design and building choreography
- Understanding the Aquafit participant
- Muscles, joints, and skeletal systems
