Description
The Sport Development Academy is a intensive summer program designed to help young athletes and sports enthusiasts develop speed, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits. Each session includes sport training focused on skill development, agility, movement, and sport-specific movements and tactics. Nutrition and planning, focused on planning balanced meals, how to set goals and design effective workouts to meet those goals, and build habits that support a healthy lifestyle. Supervised workouts in the Conditioning and Strength training floor. Instructors will supervise and monitor athletes to make sure they are exercising safely and appropriately. Instructors will help correct form and recommend different weights or activities. This program combines sport skill development, strength training, and health education to develop well-rounded, knowledgeable, and confident athletes. Multiple gym based sports will be played during the week.
Special Instructions: Wear comfortable clothes that won’t restrict movement. Please wear running shoes and bring a water bottle to each session.
Location
Located in the heart of the quickly growing Canary District, our newest Centre of Community is an 82,000 square foot, fully accessible facility. It features something for everyone, including two pools, an indoor track and gymnasium, weight room, cardio machines, green roof, kids' play structure, cycling studio, functional fitness training space, and more. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
To withdraw a participant from a program, you can do so by accessing the participant’s Registration History via your MY Y Account through MyY.YMCAGTA.ORG or by submitting your request to withdraw by email to memberservices@YMCAGTA.ORG
Participants who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund. Participants who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
CHANGE TO MEMBERSHIP:
If you cancel your paid monthly or yearly membership, your program registration fee may be subject to adjustment based on the rates applicable to your new membership status.
PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS:
At the YMCA, we are committed to providing a consistent and high-quality experience for all participants. However, there may be occasions where programs need to be cancelled.
If a program is cancelled due to reasons within the YMCA’s control—such as facility maintenance, staff availability, or scheduling conflicts—a credit will be automatically applied to your account for future use.
Please note that no credits or refunds will be issued for program cancellations resulting from events outside of the YMCA’s control. These include, but are not limited to, severe weather, power outages, or other unforeseen emergencies that impact program delivery.
