How to Register

Please review the following steps to complete your registration.

Below is the list of programs you have selected for you and your family.

* Your spot is NOT reserved until you have completed the registration process and have checked out.

How to Register

If your child requires 1:1 Integration Support, please review the Assistance Options below before continuing with registration. 

If you are receiving Government Child Care Subsidy, please review the Assistance Options below before continuing with registration.   

If you require, or are interested to see if you qualify for, Financial Assistance please review the Assistance Options below before continuing with registration.

  1. Scroll down the Guide to your program.
    Click Register.
    You must register for your program first, before registering for any add-ons (bussing, extended hours, if applicable).
    You will be redirected from the Y Guide to My Y, YMCA of Greater Toronto's account membership and program registration tool. You can pay online and registration will be immediate.

  2. Once in My Y, review program, and select Enrol Now.
    If the program you wish to register for is full, you will be invited to join the waitlist.

  3. If you are not currently signed into My Y, you will asked to sign in at this time.
    If you are a current or recent YMCA child care family, member, or participant, you already have a My Y account.
    New to the Y? Create an account to register, and review the  My Y FAQ.

  4. Once signed in, you will be asked to select the participant you wish to register in the program.

  5. After all Enrolment Details are populated, click Add to Cart. At this time, you can Check Out. Or, you can continue adding programs to your cart and then check out all at once.

  6. To continue adding programs to your cart, come back to this Guide. Find your next program (or add-on) to register for, and click Register.

    Repeat steps 2-6 to register for each program.

  7. Once you have added all the programs you want to register for to your cart, select Check Out and continue to payment.

Tips:

  1. Register for your program first, and then add-ons if applicable: bussing second and then extended hours.

  2. If you are registering the same participant for multiple programs, complete the checkout process in its entirety for your first program. You can then avoid having to repeatedly populate Enrolment Details and check out faster. Once a full checkout has been completed, My Y will recall your participant’s Enrolment Details for additional programs you are registering for.

  3. Within your Guide, program numbers are listed for each item.
    You can search for these numbers right within My Y or provide them to a member of our contact team, if needed.

Soccer League at Central YMCA

    Description

    Participants will have the opportunity to learn what it means to be part of a team through our engaging Basketball, Soccer, and Volleyball leagues. These leagues are designed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition while helping children develop essential athletic skills.
    Prior to the start of the season, a skill assessment is conducted to ensure the formation of balanced teams, giving each child an equal chance to participate and succeed. Throughout the league, players will receive guidance from a coach, fostering a positive and supportive environment where everyone can improve and have fun. The league includes a uniform, a team coach, 1 hour game each week, 2 weeks of playoffs and an end of season banquet. Friend requests can be made before the draft game, parents of both children must make the request.

    CANCELLATION POLICY:
    To withdraw a participant from a program, you can do so by accessing the participant’s Registration History via your MY Y Account through MyY.YMCAGTA.ORG or by submitting your request to withdraw by email to memberservices@YMCAGTA.ORG
    Participants who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund. Participants who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
    CHANGE TO MEMBERSHIP:
    If you cancel your paid monthly or yearly membership, your program registration fee may be subject to adjustment based on the rates applicable to your new membership status.
    PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS:
    At the YMCA, we are committed to providing a consistent and high-quality experience for all participants. However, there may be occasions where programs need to be cancelled.
    If a program is cancelled due to reasons within the YMCA’s control—such as facility maintenance, staff availability, or scheduling conflicts—a credit will be automatically applied to your account for future use.
    Please note that no credits or refunds will be issued for program cancellations resulting from events outside of the YMCA’s control. These include, but are not limited to, severe weather, power outages, or other unforeseen emergencies that impact program delivery.
    We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and participants.

    Stay Safe at Markham YMCA

      Description

      The Red Cross Stay Safe program teaches youth (ages 9 - 13) the skills they need to start on the road to independence. The program covers the following topics; Importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself, how to prepare, recognize and respond to unexpected situations, (i.e. inclement weather, strangers, unanticipated visits), How to stay safe at home and within the community, Importance of setting and following rules around safety when staying on your own. First Aid topics will also be covered; Check, Call, Care (includes phoning EMS/911), recovery position, conscious choking (adult/child/alone), feeling unwell, asthma (includes use of inhaler and spacer), anaphylaxis (includes use of EpiPen), poisoning, insect stings, wound care (i.e. minor cuts and scrapes, splinters, nosebleeds, bumps and bruises, life-threatening bleeding, burns). A workbook and certificate is included in this program.

      Note

      SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
      Participants should bring snacks, re-fillable water bottle and lunch (nut free please). They need to be signed in/out of this course by a Caregiver aged 16 years or older, please arrive promptly for pick up and drop off.

      National Lifeguard - Recert at Central YMCA

        Description

        The National Lifeguard Recertification exam is your opportunity to demostrate your skills and rectify your award. You are responsible for reviewing the required content and skills.
        Prerequisite: National Lifeguard Certification (Need not to be current) but must be presented at the start of the course.
        Physical Requirements:
        1. Object recovery: Demonstrate anaerobic fitness and strength for an object recovery: Starting in the water, swim 15 metres and surface dive to recover a 9 kg (20 lb.) object; surface and carry the object 5 metres – all within 40 seconds.2. Sprint challenge: Demonstrate anaerobic fitness: Starting in the water, swim 50 metres within 60 seconds (50 yd. within 55 seconds).3. Endurance challenge: Demonstrate aerobic fitness and endurance: Swim 400 metres within 10 minutes (400 yd. within 9:10 minutes).
        Verification of Identity Policy:
        All candidates; whether original or recertification, must verify their identity to the instructor. Original, copy, or digital copies of identification are accepted.
        The Lifesaving Society Ontario (the ""Society"") requires that the candidates legal name must appear on all certifications it issues. Candidates may also provide a preferred name, which may be displayed on the certification if requested; however, it does not replace the legal name.

        PREREQUISITE:
        National Lifeguard Certification (Need not to be current) but must be presented at the start of the course.

        Standard First Aid with CPR-C at Central YMCA

          Description

          This is the WSIB-recognized certification required by various workplaces. Designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid and CPR. Incorporates all Emergency First Aid content as well as spinal injuries, burns, heat stroke, hypothermia, broken bones, sprains, dislocations, impaled objects, and other life-threatening medical emergencies. Includes CPR-C certification.
          Prerequisites: Minimum age of 12 years.
          Strongly recommended materials: Canadian First Aid Manual.

          All candidates; whether original or recertification, must verify their identity to the instructor. Original, copy, or digital copies of identification are accepted.
