Description
When you sign your children up for basketball at the Y, you’re taking them to a place that started it all. The YMCA basketball Program offers a fun-filled blend of instruction and recreation, designed to help children develop essential basketball skills while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. Through engaging activities and supportive coaching, kids will learn the fundamentals of the game, including passing, dribbling, shooting, and positioning.
This program emphasizes the importance of staying active, healthy, and having fun in a positive environment. Perfect for beginners and young athletes of all skill levels, our basketball program aims to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and promote a love for the game.
Supervision: Children 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 16 years.
Location
Located in the heart of the quickly growing Canary District, our newest Centre of Community is an 82,000 square foot, fully accessible facility. It features something for everyone, including two pools, an indoor track and gymnasium, weight room, cardio machines, green roof, kids' play structure, cycling studio, functional fitness training space, and more. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year.

Please wear comfortable clothing and wear running shoes to class. Please bring a water bottle to each class.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
To withdraw a participant from a program, you can do so by accessing the participant’s Registration History via your MY Y Account through MyY.YMCAGTA.ORG or by submitting your request to withdraw by email to memberservices@YMCAGTA.ORG
Participants who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund.
Participants who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
CHANGE TO MEMBERSHIP:
If you cancel your paid monthly or yearly membership, your program registration fee may be subject to adjustment based on the rates applicable to your new membership status.
PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS:
At the YMCA, we are committed to providing a consistent and high-quality experience for all participants. However, there may be occasions where programs need to be cancelled.
If a program is cancelled due to reasons within the YMCA’s control—such as facility maintenance, staff availability, or scheduling conflicts—a credit will be automatically applied to your account for future use.
Please note that no credits or refunds will be issued for program cancellations resulting from events outside of the YMCA’s control. These include, but are not limited to, severe weather, power outages, or other unforeseen emergencies that impact program delivery.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and participants.
