Day Camp
Description
Eco-Adventure focuses on outdoor skill development, natural arts and science. Campers will forage for natural art material, develop bushcraft skills, and participate in eco-science activities while learning about native species. Campers have the opportunity to earn the following Outdoor Skill Buttons; archery, fire building, knot tying, orienteering, slacklining and tree identification. To complement this program, campers will participate in a variety of traditional camp activities.
Location
Y Day Camp utilizes many areas of Toronto Islands green space and waterfront to deliver outdoor adventure programs. Junior campers (6-8 year olds) take the Wards Island Ferry and walk to the home base at Snake Island where they participate in a variety of outdoor activities on the large grassy fields with access to waterfront and biking paths. This is a fully outdoor location. Private washrooms and changing trailers will be provided for changing before swimming in the Y owned pool. Senior & Leadership campers (9-15 year olds) take the Centre Island Ferry and walk to the home base near St Andrew’s by the Lake Church where they participate in a variety of activities on the large grassy fields, with access to waterfront and biking paths. This is a fully outdoor location. Public washrooms and changeroom tents will be used before swimming at the Centre Island Beach. Please ensure you come dressed for the weather as our programs operate outside rain or shine! Campers meet their counselors at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at the bottom of Bay Street before taking the ferry to the Island. Camp operates Monday - Friday from 9am - 4pm. Government Child Care Subsidy
If you currently attend YMCA Child Care and receive Government Child Care Subsidy, please continue to register online. Your account will be adjusted to reflect this at billing. Continuing to register will secure your child’s space until the YMCA receives confirmation from your local municipality.
Children who receive Government Child Care Subsidy and are interested in attending day camp programming may register for any day camp program that does not include an overnight component. We encourage families to select a different program each week when registering for multiple weeks.
NOTE: Families using City of Toronto child care subsidy must start and end their day (AM and PM) at a licensed Extended Hours program for the weeks they are registered for camp.

The YMCA reserves the right to amend your child’s registration to the approved municipal rate. If we are unable to receive confirmation of your assisted rate, your child’s registration will be adjusted to be charged the full program fee.
