Description
This is the first required course to become a Lifeguard. You can take Bronze Star before this course, but it's not required. Participants will develop an understanding of lifesaving principles and learn valuable skills needed to be successful in an aquatic emergency.
Emergency First Aid with CPR B is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries, recognized by Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board.
Prerequisite: Age 13 or Bronze Star certification.
Location
Located in the heart of the quickly growing Canary District, our newest Centre of Community is an 82,000 square foot, fully accessible facility. It features something for everyone, including two pools, an indoor track and gymnasium, weight room, cardio machines, green roof, kids' play structure, cycling studio, functional fitness training space, and more. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year.

Please bring a bathing suit, towel, goggles and deck shoes with good grips to each day of the course. Did you know you can work at the Y when you're 15 years old and have Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid certifications? Apply at ymcagta.org
CANCELLATION POLICY AND MAKE UP CLASSES:
Participants who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund. Participants who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
