Description
This week long Lifeguard in training (LIT) program incorporates the best of the Junior Lifeguard Club, dry land fitness training and First Aid. This program stresses fun and aquatic skill development based on personal-best achievement. Building on skills they already have, LIT’s work to develop and improve swimming and other aquatic skills with emphasis on swimming skills, lifesaving skills, lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork, community education, competition, and personal fitness.
Prerequisite: Participants must have previously completed one session of Junior Lifeguard Academy: Junior/Senior, or Lifesaving Club.
*This is for students currently enrolled in Lifesaving Club or students who have completed at least 1 session in Junior Lifeguard Academy Junior/Senior. Students registered in this class incorrectly will be withdrawn.
Location
The Mississauga Y offers a large health and fitness centre with a newly renovated conditioning room, extensive youth and community programs, and child care services. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year. Free parking is available on-site for members.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Participant who withdraw from the course more than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 10% of the course fee. Participant who withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start of the course will receive a refund less 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be granted once the course has started.
