Description
This is the WSIB-recognized certification required by various workplaces. Designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid and CPR. Incorporates all Basic First Aid content. Includes CPR-C certification.
The current certification must be presented at the start of the course (Standard First Aid with CPR-C & AED is accepted as long as it is current).
Prerequisites: Current Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid with CPR-C & AED or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED. Lifesaving Society SFA/IFA holders can renew their certificate once by taking an SFA/IFA Recertification Course within 3 years of the issue date. After that, they must take the full IFA course, then can alternate between a full course and recertification. Certificates from other organizations must be renewed with the original issuing agency and cannot be recertified through the Lifesaving Society.
Verification of Identity Policy:
All candidates; whether original or recertification, must verify their identity to the instructor. Original, copy, or digital copies of identification are accepted.
The Lifesaving Society Ontario (the """"Society"""") requires that the candidates legal name must appear on all certifications it issues. Candidates may also provide a preferred name, which may be displayed on the certification if requested; however, it does not replace the legal name.
Important: The last day of this course includes the exam and feedback session, which may extend slightly past the scheduled end time.
Location
This spacious, 60,000 square foot facility houses a full-featured health and fitness centre, as well as school break and summer camps programs. On-site parking is available free to members.
